Role Dashboards

When we talk about collaboration and intelligence in your business, we really do mean business.  Context Dashboards are fantastic tools while staff members are doing their jobs minute to minute.  However we sometimes need information delivered on the business at a moment in time rather than continually.  Role Dashboards are immensely powerful and can be used for a variety of purposes.

Performance Monitoring

Companies have a variety of performance reports that are run every day (usually overnight) to show how the business is performing to this point in the month.  Role Dashboards allow this information to be presented on a simple dashboard based on the role the person does in the business.

For Example: A sales person can therefore look up their sales performance against budget and can drill down into the data to see high or non performing areas.  Of course, they can only see their own performance and not any other sales person while their manager can see all sales staff reporting to them.

Because all the staff in a role use the same dashboard, programming is quick and simple.  Data can be consolidated from multiple sources and presented in a simple way for the staff members who are using it.

Yes, one can drill down into the data.  As an example, a Role Dashboard for sales staff could consist of the following elements of drill down:

1.      Performance by geographic area (i.e. State, Province, Country).

Available to roles like Sales Director, Marketing Director, etc.

2.      Performance by sales staff within one geographic area.

Available to roles like Area Manager, Sales Manager and roles above.

3.      Performance by customer for a specific sales person.

Available to roles like Sales Person and roles above.

4.      Performance by product group for a specific customer.

Available to roles like Product Manager, Sales Person and roles above.

5.      Performance by product for a specific product group within a specific customer for a specific sales person.

Available to roles like Product Manager, Sales Person and roles above.

This quickly becomes a powerful toolset where everyone knows what is going on in the business, to the level that they are authorised without wasting paper or time.  Because it is deployed across an organisation, there is no debate about one report being different to another or the validity of data.

Service Delivery / Exception Monitoring

A business is a consolidation of teams all striving to deliver a high performance.  Ideally, a manager should be able to see the performance of the business at any point in time.   Even more ideally, the manager only wants to see what is not performing.  A perfect example of this is our Supply Chain Dashboard (example shown Below).

The Supply Chain Dashboard is just an example of the power of Role Dashboards.  By only showing you exceptions, it can show where a business is underperforming Right Now.  Simply define the parameters that show the business normal performance, then create the exception dashboard segment to represent it.  Quick and simple….  Of course all dashboards can be drilled down as well.

The Supply Chain Dashboard

This dashboard is so powerful that it is really hard to show just how good it can be!  It only shows items where there is an exception, so the better your company is running, the less information it shows!!  It measures the lifeblood of your business, but we know that every business is different.  So the first question you will ask is “can you tailor this to my business?”  The answer is most assuredly YES.  As part of our implementation, we will agree to set up this dashboard to measure the key parameters of your business so that you can monitor your performance at any time.
